Laughter...It Does A Body Good!

We all love to laugh.

We know it is good for us.

Laughing can lower our blood pressure, reverse illness, and release endorphins.

Laughter binds us together, gives us hope, reduces stress and a multitude of other health and well-being benefits.

So how can we get more of it into our lives? In an article entitled Laughter is the Best Medicine, authors Melinda Smith, M.A., Gina Kemp, M.A., and Jeanne Segal, Ph.D have several great suggestions.

  • Watch a funny movie or TV show.
  • Go to a comedy club.(See a comedy hypnotist)
  • Read the funny pages.
  • Seek out funny people.
  • Share a good joke or a funny story.
  • Check out your bookstore’s humor section.
  • Host game night with friends.
  • Play with a pet.
  • Go to a “laughter yoga” class.
  • Goof around with children.
  • Do something silly.
  • Make time for fun activities (e.g. bowling, miniature golfing, karaoke).

Of course, one of my personal favorites to cultivate laughter is on You Tube and right after that are practical jokes. Yes, I am the playful sort. Ah…but that is another article. One thing for sure, you can only do yourself well with a good belly laugh.

So here is a You Tube video to get you started. It has received over 136,363,157 views and for good reason. I have watched it over and over and I laugh every time. Take a look and have a laugh out loud on me.
